Paralyzed Veterans of America is calling for the VA to add 1,000 more bedside nurses to serve the demand for care of veterans using the SCI/D System of Care.  An article outlining this issue was written by Paralyzed Veterans of America Executive Director Sherman Gillums, Jr. and published in The Hill newspaper on September 12, 2016:

From the article, "Congress must fund the 1000-additional-nurses requirement so that paralyzed veterans who have no private sector alternative get full and timely access to adequate the VA specialized services they need to live and stay healthy."
